Hello eveyone,
I may or may not have a simple problem on my dirty hands,
I have a '78 MG Migdet with a timing problem. The timing used to be ok, (a ye
ago) but when I checked it this weekend it was retarded about 8 degrees. When I
adjusted it to its proper 2 degrees BTDC, it began to jump. I can get it
sort-of stablized either too advanced or too retarded. Yes the whole
distributor has a little 'wiggle' to it.
So, my question is this, I assume that I have a worn distributor and that I
need to either replace it or get some kind of re-build kit- Is my diagnoses
correct and what would be the easyest or the cheapest fix?
Any one out there who has any helpful hints?
I would like to get this car fixed so that i can sell it.
