Small items can also be airmailed. This isn't exactly cheap sometimes,
but it's not that bad either and it is cheaper than air freight. I had
a drive shaft airmailed out once. Even with a 70 pound (ouch) shipping
charge, it was still cheaper than getting one made up locally (ok, it
was on sale, *really* on sale :-)
Someone suggested using fax to communicate. I would strongly second that.
It's bad enough that we almost speak the same language without having
words get dropped over the connection. At least if its written down you
have a better chance of communicating.
