Well, Marcus Tooze, sounds like you have a job on your hands. My first
restoration was a Spit 1500, but it was fun and quite easy. Yes, minus
the steering rack, fluid lines and electrics (and the so easy to forget
engine ground) the body comes off and on easily with 12 bolts. And yes
again the body is VERY floppy off the backbone. Almost a Chapman creation
in its strength mius the chassis !
The 1500 engine is Triumph stuff alright, but was put into Midgets, with
much protest from MG fans, late in the game when BMC, or whatever they
were calling themselves that week, tried to get some commonality in
their parts (HA HA !) It's a good angine, but am oil coiler is a good
idea, and if your going to really drive it don't rev too high or the
number 3 piston might exit the block !
