I'm happy that you have seen the light. A new Land Rover 90 is the expensive
way to go. If you don't mind a Land Rover Classic, you can pick up a good
condition 88 in the $3-4K range these days. If you went through the entire drive
train renewing everything, and put in a new wiring harness ordering directly
from the UK (about half US prices), you could pull in an excellent condition
Land Rover 88 for under $10K. Another couple of K & you have new paint.
Granted the 88's 70odd HP is a little less than the 90 has, but if you put an
overdrive on the 88 you could have 16 gears forward and 4 gears reverse. Just
the thing for gear heads :*)
