Having recently gone through this one on mine.....
If the gears and case are good, have it rebuilt, which is essentially replacing
all the bearings and seals. A junkyard one will probably be leaky also and is
going to cost $200 and up. The rebuild on mine was ~$200 at a local rear end
shop. I've been told setting up a rear end is very tricky and is best left to a
pro.

Possibly a spitfire, but I'm not sure.

I think it's 3.89. The GT6 FAQ on hoosier has those details.
>(sensing a bad case of shipwright's disease coming on...)
While you're back there pulling everything apart, you'll want to replace the
u-joints and bushings and possibly re-arch/replace the spring. I don't have
rotoflex's on mine so someone else on the list can advise you on those.
Good luck.
