You should be able to jumper the ballast resistor temporarily to see if it's the source of your problem. But the ballast is supposed be out of the circuit during starting anyway so maybe that's where the trouble lies. I'm not familiar with your car but there should be relay somewhere that shorts out the ballast while the starter is engaged. Also, 1kohm seems high to me for a ballast resistor. Roland |
