Actually the MGA overdrive swap is easy compaired to the Riley 2.5l
overdrive swap. There one has to machine the imput shaft from the stock
trany and have it welded to replace the input shaft of the donor tranny.
With the MGA swap, the donar organs are genitically related. With the Riley
swap the donor is not even from the same species. After grafting
input shafts, a Riley owner is still faced with the task of engine-gearbox
mounting plates, gearbox rear mounts, and propeller shaft fabrication.
The Riley does not have the open propeller shaft like the MGA/MGB, etc.
Yes I am also a fan of overdrives. But it is not a project for the timid.
