I have a 1980 TR7 which produces a squealing noise much like that
of a slipping fan belt. The difference is that it happens even
with the fan belt removed. It appears to happen at engine speeds
of 2000 to 3000 rpm when the throttle is depressed beyond that
required to hold a steady speed (only a very slight depression is
needed. I tried disconnecting the distributor vacuum advance but
this changed nothing.
I am soliciting suggestions for further diagnostics or solutions.
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks
