Some (if not all) of the brake lines have bubble type flares which require
special tooling to make them.  Either buy the lines pre-made (not sure if these
are available???) or there may be some local shops that can duplicate what you
have.

Unless it's a very late Mk3, they're the same, the short ones.  While you're at
it, you may want to either re-arch or replace the leaf spring.  The car will
sit and handle much better.

Local aerospace/industrial fastener places are a good source, especially for 
stainless steel and heavy duty hardware.  There were a couple of mail order
places that I've seen here on the list too.
