I have a 69 MGB with the "stow-away in the trunk" type top. I beleive this was
the last year for the "stow-away" and as of 1970 all tops were attached to the
car. For years, I've stuck with this type of top and spent uncounted hours
putting it up and taking it down. It's gotten to the end of it's life cycle (24
years old) and I want a window I can see through. OK, I admit - I'm getting
old and lazy - I want to switch to the newer style top, particularly those
types with the rear zipper window. Weather in St. Louis requires the quick
change artist (I've gotten wet once too often).
So, the question to the net - Is this as easy a change as it looks? Before I
pop for the newer style top, what do I need? Is the hardware such as the
snaps, hooks, etc. compatable? I've already got the newer frame (from an early
70's B) with the front bow. Do I need anything else?
After I do this, I'll let you know how it turns out.
