Wellll... a _security_ system might be worthwhile for a valuable example
of the marque. That is, something more than just a silly siren, which will
prevent people from actually opening the bonnet and hotwiring the thing.
Remember that for an LBC, a replacement ignition system can be carried in
your pocket, so the ideal way to prevent it from getting stolen is not an
elaborate brain box that kills the electronic ignition (which classic LBCs
don't have anyway), but perhaps something that locks them out of the engine
compartment. One of those pushbutton deadbolt-cable-with-an-ignition-kill-
and-tubular-ACE-key-lock setups, perhaps.

I think also that you want to pick your installer carefully. A typical
installer knows the color-coding of wiring harnesses on popular cars by
heart, but may not know the wiring colors of your LBC, nor may he be able
to find a source to look them up if you don't have the diagrams yourself.
It's a safe bet that the alarm manufacturer has neglected to list elderly
LBC color coding schemes in the installation manual.
