My left TR8 catalytic converter melted the wires travelling nearby. (The
insulation had actually all fused together.) Anyway, I'm in the process
of rewiring this small part of the harness since the insulation was brittle
and crunchy anyway :-( These wires are the ones that go to the starter
solenoid and then on to the alternator. Yes, I have a heatshield and
yes, the starter solenoid died too :-( Those cats get pretty hot idling
in stop and go traffic...
Anyway, I cannot seem to find striped, coloured wiring to splice in.
Solid colours of all sorts and sizes are pretty easy to locate but
when you tell them you want brown with a white stripe they look at
you funny and wonder why you'd want that. Should I stop trying the
auto parts places and start looking elsewhere? Suggestions?
