|Subj: Anemic late MGB engine
------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that I've had my B for a few weeks, I was noticing how anemic
the engine is with all of the smog junk on it and low compression
pistons. I have already started thinking about a rebuild in a year or
two and thought I'd solicit the list for easy ways to add some
performance to the late model engine.
Can the earlier high compression pistons be put into the later ('80)
engines ? What about the larger valves ? Does this require a different
head.
I guess Dave Vizards book would be a good starting place. One other
thing I was wodering about. Can the GT V8 bushings be used on a regular
B to give the front end a little more staying power ?

   Thanks a ton,
      Dean
