My cylinder head is back on, but I've still got leaks.
Leading to a lot of scary discussions about cracks and
the like. I talked to a local SCCA guy today who has a
Renault Turbo II. He uses a copper head gasket, and says
to pull the head, anneal the gasket, and use some head
gasket spray, or aluminium paint. I guess he knows: he
runs 30 lbs of boost in the Renault, a lot more combustion
pressure than I have (even though my last compression test
showed 185 psi per cylinder--that's why I use the copper
head gasket). I'm pretty sure that the head and block are
flat--the engine only has 7k on it. As far as the area around
the head studs, the stud holes have been counter sunk as
advised in the Special Tuning manual AKD 4034. I hope this
works. I don't like the idea of cracks (shudder).

 Wish me luck,

 Keith
