Looks like you have to own an E-Type Jaguar to get any attention on this
mailing list ;-)
Anyhow, I thought I'd update those of you who were interested in my
attempt to improve on "Browns Lane" engineering.
Remember the Jaguar XJ6(III) fuel system looks some thing like this...
|--+-->L Tank----|
|--| +-X--Pump---->Filter---->Fuel Injection
| |--+-->R Tank----| |
| |
---------------<--Fuel Return--<-----------
I ended up settling on a Ryco 1108 fuel filter for point X. It has
screw in unions so the 1/2" fittings were not a problem. Actually
I could not believe how difficult it was to find fuel filters with
1/2" fittings most have 3/8" or 1/4" and there are very few that
have changable fittings like the 1108.
So that's it...problem solved...why Jaguar didn't include a pre-pump
filter I will never know. BTW: This modification has been ratified
and otherwise deemed OK by my Jaguar club president, local Jaguar dealer
and my cities most popular Jaguar service-center.
Regards Scott.
