I don't think rubber carb mounts are correct for TR6. The originals
which came off my car, and the new replacements I bought, were asbestos.
For heat insulation, of course -- they offer little or no vibration
insulation...
...and no, don't sniff these parts to see if they're OK...
The whole exhaust/intake manifold connibulation scene has me worried.
They're like two worms mating... And have you felt the heat coming off
a nicely heated up cast iron exhaust manifold? Cast iron can contain a
LOT heat, and the sucker is RIGHT UNDER the intake manifold which spells
bad news to me. During the industrious PHASE TWO I plan on getting the
ex-man Jet-Hotted...

PS This weekend's projects: replace motor mounts with solid rubber ones,
fit radiator shroud, swap in alternate ammeter (the one without the
sticking needle; note these units are MADE to be disassembled so you
can fool with them), minor behind-the-dash perfections, then back to
work on the interior. God I hate dealing with glue and carpet and
vinyl and all that squishy stuff... give me cold hard metal any day...
