MGB Center Console Lid
I've had my 74 MGB for 10 years now and I finally couldn't take the shabby
console lid anymore. I've avoided fixing the lid out of fear that the entire
drive train will come crashing to the ground just to even things up. The
challenge was that the location in the console where the female latch should
have been was a large ugly hole. Also, the female latches haven't been
available when I've checked in the past.
I managed to fashion a metal piece with the appropriate square hole and pop
riveted it in place. Moss provided a new latch and Northwest Imports provided
the console lid. (Moss also has the male connector as well, BTW).
I guess this doesn't rank with some other posts along the lines of "my oil was
dirty so as long as had to get my hands dirty, I decided to rebuild the
engine." :-) But sometimes it's the small victories over the car that keeps me
from Little Japanese Car-dom.
