The switch plinth on my 6 was mashed where the PO used to brace his thumb to pull out the choke. I have a new plinth now and don't want to do the same, but it's a natural motion. Happily, I saw a good hint recently (in a TRF catalogue maybe?) regarding this: All you have to do is depress the accelerator before pulling the choke! Then the choke mechanism doesn't have to rotate the throttle itself using the fast idle cam, and the choke can be actuated with much less force. --ian |
