For my one-and-only claim (knock on wood) to show for paying 17 years of insurance premiums, my insurer (Allstate) first made an estimate using cheap repro parts. I stated that this was not suitable and the adjuster simply replied "Fine, all you had to do was ask." and the estimate jumped about 2.5x. The shop that did the work came in even higher (after I demanded OEM parts) but Allstate paid up without any more intervention on my part. My reccomendation: Tell the insurer that the estimate is not suitable. It just may work. -Steve- |
