I saw the following ad in the local newspaper, not only is it intriguing
but amusing too!:
"MG 1972 BGT. It starts. Free, take it away. 399-2455"
That would be Westbrook, Connecticut (on the shoreline, next town over
from me) area code 203.
I can see it now. Owner thinks: "No wheels! No doors! No interior!
No steering wheel! .... No, no.... wait, I got it! IT STARTS!!!"
My wife had a pained expression on her face when I said, "I think I
found _my_ car!" :-)
Saw Part II of "Sins of the Fathers" of Inspector Morse on Mystery Theatre
on PBS TV last night. Couple of shots of the interior of the Jaguar MkII
(while he was driving) this time. We actually got to see him WORKING
on the car this episode!!! He was at home, with the bonnet up, pouring
a fluid in somewhere (couldn't make out what it was or where it was going,
but it looked like a clear fluid). The camera pans backwards when his
assistant, Lewis, shows up and reveals the front wheel is also off. Working
on the brakes, I wonder? Anyway, Lewis revealed something relevant to the
case and they had to leave. Morse, gets the wheel, toys with it a second,
leaves it against the side of the car, slaps his hands together and exits
scene to the right saying, "Lewis, put the wheel on would you, while I go
wash me hands..." My kind of mechanic! :-) Classic! The look on Lewis's
face was priceless too!
Cheers!
