I have a 1980 Spitfire, with a slanted radiator,
in front of which I'd like to install a 13-row
MOCAL full-width oil cooler. I have checked out the
packaging of the radiator, and have noticed that it
is quite well-cowled. There is really not much
of a gap through which to run hoses. What have other
people done, I wonder?
By the way, I ordered the cooler from Pegasus. It
appears to be very well constructed and finished in
something that looks like enamel. The oil line kit
from Triumphtune is a little funky in that all
connections are 1/2" BSP, not AN. Also, their
fancy kit does have hoses with braided stainless
steel sheaths, but the hose inside is rubber, not teflon,
and is not really lightweight, if that's what you're
after. Also, the hose ends are proprietary affairs with
hydro-formed flares, and are swaged onto the ends of the hose.
It's nice to have a pre-measured and -fitted set of
hoses, though.
Still scratching my head,
Tim
