No miracles, but when you mention this to most macheinists they say, "oh, thats unusual" then you have to explain whats what. The 1500 and 1300 Spit engines had half circle thrust bearings loacated in the block to bear on the trust surface of the crank by the rear main bearing. To put in a full circle breaing a space must be cut in the main bearing cap (she ll) and bearings with a tab put in. The tab stops them from spinning as in most other MG engines. Clear as mud right?
