Jerry, have you looked at the mechanical parts of the brake circuit (peddle to
master brake cylinder push rod? You might get your good wife to push the brake
peddle slowly while you confirm that the linkage is working properly.

You might also disconnect themaster cylinder from the rest of the circuit;
run a tube to a bottle and have her pump the pedle once to see if you have
proper flow out of the master cylinder.

I also sugest taking her to a nice dinner afterwards to say thanks or perhaps
flowers. She's got to deal with the car AND your frustrations.

Try fault analysis:
Problem: fluid does not come gushing out of an open bleeder valve.

Possible causes:
  * No fluid
  * No pressure

You have fluid therefore no pressure

possible causes:
  * resriction in brake line
     * kink
     * forign object

  *Master cylinder not providing pressure
     * piston not being activated when peddle pushed
     * Piston not providing seal to build & maintain pressure
     * Master cylinder not getting enough fluid from reservoir

You can keep this up for many levels until you end up with a list
of things to check.

You might consider a class in TQC. The fishbone diagram is a handy tool to
use in diagnosing car problrms.
