I deliberately waited until after 4/1/92 to avoid creating
any April Fool reaction.
I received as a query to VTR a request to sell a TR-3 from
a gentleman in Kentucky that is impacted to some degree by the economic
downturn. Anyway, here's what he wrote.
"I have owned several British cars (Mgs, A-H, TRs) and I presently
have a 1961 TR-3 that has been stored in a garage since 1984.
I purchased the car with restoration in mind, however,
due to economic cutbacks....I wish to sell the car.
The car has wire wheels and is in good condition. There are
several parts that have been rechromed or bought new. If you
know anyone that might be interested I can be reached by writing
or calling:
John Edwards
1014 Wilburn Street
Flatwoods, KY 41139
Tel: 606-836-6967
------End of letter-----
I called John and he said the car is all together, it does
run (last started about a year ago) and he'd like to get
$1000 for it. I also asked where Flatwoods, KY was. It is
about 120 miles east of Lexington, KY on I-64.
So, it sounds like a very reasonable price for a car that
might be streetable with a minimum of work and money.
