   TR3 Steering Center Hubs...
Has anybody else gotten the latest Roadster Factory flier? Looked at page 6?
Noticed that they shall shortly have NEW TR3 STEERING WHEEL HUBS?

    ------ WOW! ------

These have been unobtainable as long as I've been into TRs! Go, TRF!

On a more pedestrian note, I was working on my own center hub last night.
There is a wire pigtail that comes out of the hub, and goes down through a tube
all the way down through the steering box. I needed to recover my pigtail,
because the original cloth cover was trashed, even though the wires were OK. A
complication here is that there is very little room for the wire in that tube,
and traditional coverings, like shrink tubing, don't seem to work very well. I
needed something really thin and form-fitting.

I wound up covering the center-hub pigtail with plumber's teflon tape.
It's super-strong, oil-grease-heat-proof, quite thin, and wraps very nicely,
stretching a bit to conform to the wires. Not only that, it cost only $0.89 at
the local ripoff hardware store. Its only disadvantage, is that it has no
stickum. This I fixed by securing the very end of the wrap with a bit of
electrical tape.

p.s. Is it April Fools day again? Seems like just yesterday that Roger
Garnett's PA was for sale...
