Gerry writes about Sunbeam Harrington Lemans:
If it the one that I am thinking of, this is a fastback body
built on the Sunbeam Alpine body. It look from the side like an Aston
Martin DB6 (if you squint real hard !!!). I believe this is the car that
Rootes ran at LeMans, and should be dark green with a yellow
band painted round the front of the nose. I believe Harrington
did build some for normal road use but I do not have my book here,
so this info is sketchy.

>>From what I can remember from my stint as a Sunbeam
owner (and the books I read at the time), the
Harrington Lemans was a roadgoing fastback model built
to commemorate Sunbeam's winning of the Index of
Thermal Efficiency Award @ Lemans one year ('62 - '63 ?).
These cars had an aluminum (I think)fastback bonded onto the
std. roadster body and unfortunately lost the pretty
Series 1-3 fins in the progress. I believe it was even
a hatchback. Just over 200 were made.
Unfortunately it never appeared that these
pretty little coupes garnished much in the way of
collector's appeal. The Alpines were always outshone by
the Tiger, and it would seem that this version of the
Alpine fell into obscurity rather than collectability.
