I'm a new to Team.Net, this is Great Stuff!! 'quit Compuserv a while
ago but will re-subscribe if my company ever drops internet.
Mark Demiere (sp?) at BFG and says the new compound/construction autocross
tires will be available in at least 10 sizes by April, but no sale on the
206/204s Boo Hisssss.
Unconfirmed Rumor has it that Hoosier is coming out with some new sizes
275-40-16 and 315-35-16. 'could buy a set for the Camaro and rent it out
during the week as a Steam Roller. Its fun to run Hoosiers in SP, lots of Slip
angle, linear dropoff, keeps me out of trouble.
Radio Shac has a special on Grand Prix Unlimited, ($50) it includes the game
and a steering wheel adapter for a Mouse. The shaft of the steering wheel
contacts the mouse ball so when you turn the wheel, it turns the mouse ball.
The wheel also retracts for braking and acceleration, sounds like a neat idea.
My PC is down for a few weeks so I didn't purchase it, has anyone tried it?
Can the Microprose GP use a mouse? if so it might be worth buying this just
to get the steering wheel adapter (sounds like the Microprose game is better).
This year's Pro-Solo here in Phoenix should be the best one yet, we've suffered
from less than ideal parking lots in the past but 1000 X 1000 or more!!! The
weather should be great, we've already had our annual rainfall (4 times) so it
shouldn't rain the rest of the year. The Camaro might see third, (second only
goes to 69.5 mph) but we'll probably see plenty of be tricky assorted angle
corners (Witkowski is the designer).
Timing systems anyone??? I'm the other half of the JACircuits timing system,
John Carriere does the marketing, I design and build them. If anyone sees Rick
Perry tell him his system has top priority. The midwest systems (Det, KC, and
Ia among others) will go out before March. This design is microprocessor
controlled so changes in functionallity are possible. I'll elaborate or send
info to anyone interested. As soon as Howard (Duncan) buys one we can have the
times printed on the big displays for tour events (just like the Pros).
One suggestion that might help new Team.net(ters) - send them a decoder ring
that spells out the most common TLA's (three letter acronyms) in the initial
contact and publish it once a year to everyone, if someone uses another (not
on the list) spell it out once during the message.
