Well, the new (rebuilt) alternator I put on the MGB performed well for
about two weeks and died. I just sent it off for exchange. As with
the old one, this one was only producing about 11.5 volts, and so the
battery was not getting charged.

Is there something that can kill alternators? Alternataurus Rex? :-)
Right now I'm just assuming that I got a crappy rebuild, which I know
is not unheard of. But is there something I should be looking for in
my electrical system that might be frying my alternator? The only
thing I can think of off-hand would be the starter, but I don't see
how that would work. Anyway, send me some mail if you have any ideas.
Thanks.
