Just got through checking out the Cyberdyne air/fuel mix meter. It
works just fine. The bar graph has 10 lights. 100 mV lights the
first light, 200 mV lights the second light, etc. I put 300 mV
on the meter and got three lights. The circuit drew less than
0.1 microamps so it probably won't load down the oxygen sensor.
(No, I haven't actually measured the input impedance.)
I also tried putting 400, 500, 600, and 700 mV and everything worked
as expected. Jim gives the Cyberdyne meter two thumbs up.
Now I have to check my O2 sensors (which I suspect are bad). Wonder what
caused that? You'll have to wait til tomorrow to find out what I discover.
Thanks to all who wrote back about the National chip. Looks like we
can design our own air/fuel meter if we want :-) BTW, has anyone
got any new "poop" on the Performance Engineering magazine we read about
this summer?
