Apparently dealer stickers never took hold here in CA. In fact, I was
unaware they existed until I moved out of State for awhile in the mid
'60s. The frames have always been popular, though. It's always been my
practice to take them off as soon as I get a newly purchased car home.
Much to my regret, in one case. When I bought my snake it had a set of
Carroll Shelby's High Performance Motors license plate frames on it. I
tossed them soon after I bought the car. Now these frames are
considered valuable collectables. If I still had them I could probably
get a hundred bucks apiece for them. Sigh. Oh well, at least I kept my
Cobra key fob. According to the writing on the back the keys can be
dropped in mailbox for guaranteed postage back to Shelby American in
Venice, California. It gives me a great feeling of security to know
this.
