I had rebuilt the whole brake systems (ie new pipes, seals, cylinders
etc), the only piece I did not replace was the booster. After fitting
a new booster, I have not lost 1 drop of fluid in the last 3 years.

My friend with the Rover never buys any parts, the car never breaks down !!!!
Seriously, the only parts he has bought were new water hoses, as the
original 1965 hoses were starting to show signs of cracking. When I
was in the UK las month, I looked around for several places to buy parts
and came back with about 10 addresses. Since then he has ordered parts
from the UK and had no problems.

In this country I think there are 2 or 3 places which deal in Rover
parts, one of them is Rover Parts Northwest (?) and the others I forget.
Where is Terriann (?), who has a Land Rover ?

If you want I can get you the addresses in the UK.

(PS - he also has another Rover 2200 which he picked up for $100
as a parts car)

This is very possible, in fact there is a company in the UK who
sell a bellhousing to adapt a Toyota Corolla (?) 5-speed to the 1275 engine.
I have an article at home which describes the process and which
parts have to be ordered from them. the article showed with a Spridget and
a Morris Minor fitted with the Toy g'box. From memory, I think it said
that the ratios are better suited than the original BMC g'box and
in 5th gear the revs drop by 800 rpm, so you can cruise at 80mph
at 4000 revs.
