Can anyone give the procedure for changing my 65 rover with a dynamo over
to negative ground. What things will I encounter with the instruments?
Is it just as simple as polarizing the dynamo field coil? I might have to
swap the ignition coil leads, but what else?
The main reason for doing this is to put in a stereo system which almost always
have a neg ground on the chasis.
That reminds me of a bonehead previous owner story .....
my first car was a '67 MGB GT It never could hold a charge and the previous
owner had replace the batteries and regulator several times before giving up
and selling the car. As a last attempt they bypassed the regulator - giving
maximum charging to the battery all the time. Well the battery exploded.
Too much for the guy and he got away - probably to never own one of those
totaly unreliable electrical disasters. Poor guy didn't know that the radio
he put in himself had been shorting out between the radio box and the car ground
the whole time.
any way, I know the conversion is simple but I can't quite remember the
procedure
thanks in advance for info...
