I really must add my voice to the chorus that begs us not to
move this to a newsgroup.
I was on the info-vw alias when they started the rec.autos.vw
newsgroup and the effect was detrimental to both groups. Many
people quit taking the mailing list because of the convenience
of netnews. The result was that the only things going on in the
mailing list were questions about air conditioning in late
model Jettas.
The second message ever posted to the vw newsgroup was some
net.dicksmoker ranting about how shitty volksies are.....then
the following 500 messages were people who felt compelled to
argue with this misanthrope about it......yuck!
Call me a stickler for the old-fashioned way, but I like
this list....it's so similar to our cars!
