This is clarification on LRC's earlier invitation:
SHOPPE KLUGE CORTINA DISMEMBERING PARTY
---------------------------------------
Well, the landlady finally popped over for
a surprise visit, and BOY! was she surprised.
Technically, we were supposed to reduce the
number of vehicles in the yard since her last
visit (it was one of the provisions for her
agreeing to give us a lease). So, being
somewhat technically-minded, I set upon the
number of vehicles in our yard and began
reducing them. Now she tells us she meant
FEWER vehicles, not less of each.
Oh, well.
Now we have to get rid of vehicles. The two
easiest to remove and worst to look at are
the dead, engineless Cortinas in the drive.
THE PLAN
--------
Shoppe Kluge hereby invites anyone who can
turn a wrench to show up Saturday anytime
after 10am to reduce BC and Fin(is) into com-
ponent atoms. Since all we're doing is
removing pieces, absolutely NO mechanical skills
are required. All you need to bring is your
limbs and your mouth (the rest of your body
may be necessary to transport these pieces).
I (and perhaps other members of Shoppe Kluge)
will provide some decent form of beer appropriate
for wrenching, a dinner of some sort (I was
planning a huge vat of spaghetti, but everyone else
seems to be planning on getting pizza; we'll see)
and snack food if I have any money left (don't
worry, there'll be something to nibble on).
Since I have a limited supply of tools, it would
help if people could show up with at least a
few of their own. Since these are British Fords,
all you need is a ratchet, a rack of SAE sockets,
and a 1/2---9/16 combination wrench. Make sure you
bring a socket extension, too, if you bring sockets;
it'll help.
Don't worry about there being too many people;
I sure wouldn't mind a whole lot if this event
degenerated into a party by nightfall, and Lord
knows there's enough wrenching for 20 people.
DON'T BE SHY, PLEASE SHOW UP.
RSVPs are really appreciated, but not at all
necessary:

DIRECTIONS
----------
To get to Shoppe Kluge:
Get on Soquel, at the exit from Hiway 1.
Head toward Santa Cruz (right at the light at
the end of the Hiway exit, left again
at the next light at the end of the
frontage road the Hiway exit runs into).
Go through the next light. This is 7th st.
The road will go downhill after the light.
At the bottom of the hill is a large, well-marked
intersection that is right-turn only.a
This is La Fonda. Turn right onto La Fonda.
Follow La Fonda through its two long, sweeping, right
hand turns, which are very difficult to apex
properly at legal speeds and while obeying
traffic laws and looking out for bicyclists
and small children (of which there are plenty).
The road then turns left onto a bridge, a turn
which I find very easy to apex properly under
any conditions. Go over the bridge, and look
for the left-hand only turn which is hiding
amidst the brush almost immediately thereafter.
This is Holway.
Go almost to the end of Holway, and turn left into the
driveway.
Park in the yard if there's any room, close to the house
if you're on a bike, or go back out to La Fonda and turn
left, then turn left at the next two stop signs, and park
anywhere when the road makes its first right-hand bend.
Then walk through the shortcut straight into our yard.

THESE ARE THE ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS LARRY SENT OUT
-------------------------------------------------
To get to Shoppe Kludge:
From the intersection of hwys 1 and 17 in Santa Cruz
Take hwy 1 south.
Take the morrisey exit,
the exit will bend right, so it is going directly away
from the freeway, when it dead ends turn left.
(there will be a sign pointing to the right for the
golf course and the stroke center)
At Morrissey (the next intersection) Turn left and cross back
over the freeway. The lane will turn to the right in a
270 degree clockwise cloverleaf, take a very late apex and
go down the straight until you can turn to the right
(just before getting back on the freeway).
Turn right and make another immediate right.
You are still on Morrissey again.
Continue on Morrissey the road will make a 90 degree
left hand turn and continue past an elementary school.
Just past the eleme\10ntary school, turn right at the stop
sign.
About a block up, at the next stop sign turn right on
La Fonda.
Just before you reach the bridge, turn right on
Holway. It will be at the end of the street
on the left.
