WEll, Phil, I guess I must be the exception to this rule! I've
driven both 1275 and 1500 midgets (including F & G prod. cars, along
with the Spit.) and I'll stick with my 76' Midget. Yeah, when I first
got it, the car was exactly as you describe it. It's amazing what twin
SU's(*), 1275 springs, lowering blocks, foam filled (vs. steel
beam) bumpers and a bit of tuning in general can do! The car is still
weak down under and can't be reved to quickly, but it gets the job done.
(If need be, I could always drop a race preped sprint engine in. They
dyno at about 150 hp) Harrumph!
