You may have already thought of this, but could the water from the
cooler have caused your problems? After your boot gets completely
dry, you might see if the car runs. I'm not familiar with TR4 wiring,
but on the Alpine, all the wires for the rear lamps run directly
beneath the boot.
Just a thought......
