If the new head gasket doesn't help the compression you might try, with the head back on tight, pouring a couple tablespoons of heavy oil (I usually use 90 weight gear oil) into the cylinders one at a time and doing a compression check on the oiled cylinder. Any improvement you get is due to the oil clogging up wear and scoring on the cylinder walls, any compression that's still missing is most likely in the valves. |
