i went through the EXACT same BS last year trying to put one of those things
on my TR6. I must have went through 5 extra quarts of oil. on me, my car, my
garage floor, everywhere. all i can say is you've got to keep trying. i
almost through the GD adapter through the wall (i'm not very patient with thimgs
that should be simple). anyway i finally got it on. my main problem was the
o ring between the adapter and the block. everytime i'd start the car the
damn thing would seap all over the place. i think i finally used gasket sealer
to help hold th o-ring in the block while i bolted up the adapter. i never
had any leaks where the filter meets the adapter though. i use the filter from
a fiesta for my car, seems to work ok.

this probably doesn't help you much but at least you know you're not alone,
and i've got to tell you, once you've got it on there you are going to love
it. i used to dread oil changes, as you know, but know it's a piece of cake
and i can do it more frequently with out having a nervouse breakdown every time.

                        GOOD LUCK,
                                        Dave
