This weekend I discovered my MGB's SU carbs have loose throttle
shafts. There is about 3/32" of play at the carb body casting. Obviously,
I cannot leave them in this condition.
There seems to be two ways to go; put in an oversize throotle
shaft, or put in a standard size shaft and rebush the carb body. Have any
of you done this before? Which would you choose if doing it over again?
Supposedly, there is an outfit in Oakland, CA which specialises in
rebushing SU's. Anyone know who they are?
Right now, not counting installation, it looks as if buying
rebuild kits and throttle shaft and bushing kits from the Roadster Factory
is much cheaper than the oversize throttle shaft.
Thanks for any advice you all can provide.
