Note that the article is about which cars made poor investments, which,
is pretty much all of them.  In the case of a Bricklin, assuming you
paid $7,490 in 1975 and assuming your car is worth about $20,000 today
(this a very big assumption), you have gotten about a 3% return on your
investment.  This is also assuming you put no money into the car and
there was no cost to store it.

Had you put the $7,490 into an investment back in 1975 and earned 6%
compounded, you could pay someone $20,000 for a nicely restored B and
still have $30,000 left over.
