Irwin,
The most likely problem is that the lock switch on the console is in the
lock position. That cuts out ALL (both internal and external) door switches.
Try to change the position of the switch. If that doesn't do it, check
to see that the wires are connected. There may be a fuse in line between
the lock switch and the battery.
Let me know if that doesn't fix it.
