A car battery is not designed to sit unused for extended periods, nor
withstand repeated discharges. The life and preformance of the battery is
considerably reduced from that usage pattern. A trickle charger might be an
idea, and
disconnecting the battery. Supposedly the Optimas are more tolerant of that
type of use, which I am testing now.
