IMO the drivetrain is a toss up. Both are good and if maintained should be
relatively safe and problem free.
I think the cars condition and the price should help you make a decision
What are you looking for stock or modified or what's your final restored
product gonna look would be helpful to know(if you are looking for a
restoration project).
As a side note, ponder this if you will!
I saw a 75 Brick on Ebay go for $7600. The pix made it look like it needed
alot of work ( aesthetically )$$$, yet it sold for almost 8k
There is a 74 Brick on Ebay for 10k that looks so much better and IMO if
the 75 went for 7600 the 74 is worth twice that amount, just due to the
expense to fix/repair/update a Brick, it ain't cheap, even if you turn your
own wrenches(this goes for any marquee)
Peter I do not know you or at least I think I don't, What are you wanting
from a Bricklin? This should drive your decision.
I'm personally, so dang confused on the values of the Brick. People will
spend 20-30k restoring a car to sell for 15-20k. Then there are the well
preserved original cars selling for 8-15k
That often show better than the "restored" cars.
To end this brain fart of mine, I will leave you with this.
Buy the car that closest resembles the picture in your brain that you see,
when you think Bricklin. The price ain't that expensive, especially when you
compare it to the high cost of a "fixer upper"
Peace
Jim
