That's me.

When I updated my radio, I didn't want to hack the dash so went with the only
shaft style still
manufactured. Kenwood makes it, (KRC-2007 and KRC-1007) and while it is shaft
mounted, the
knobs are to digital switches. The radio is a drop in. The sound from the 1007
is decent if you're
going to run it straight to the speakers, but it has preouts and that passed
through an amp is
much better. You can check out both models at Kenwood's website (
www.kenwoodusa.com ).
The speaker box is 15 1/2" deep, 9 3/8" high, and 39" wide (which does take a
bit of the "trunk"
space up, but hey, whose using their bricklin for hauling?) If anyone wants the
plans, they're in
autocad format, but I could probably export them to a jpg. You can get carpet
to match from Bob
or Terry (I got mine from Bob). The box is capable of holding 4 6x9's or a pair
of 12's, I went the 4
6x9 way because I wanted lots of all around sound, not just bass. I rigged it
so that all the
connections are all on the side, and I broke it out so that they are all Pomona
(Banana plug) or
RCA jacks (I can pull the whole thing out in under 5 minutes and you'd never
know the vehicle wasn't
stock). Mounted to the back of the box I put a Kenwood 250W peak amp (KAC-529S)
and a Kenwood
10 disc FM modulated CD changer (KDC-C517FM). I also yanked the production
6.5's and put Kenwoods
in there.

If anyone has any questions about it, please let me know.
