I've heard some complaint about the upper rear chock mount being weak. If
you look at it, it could definitely stand some reinforcement. Terry's known
of more than a few which have snapped. Sometimes corrosion is the demon, or
a mis-matched or performance shock. If I had the chassis open, I would
consider this a priority.
As for weight distribution, it seems MUCH more front heavy than that. But
then, maybe the stock muffler weighs more than I thought. Worse, the
amount of weight in FRONT of the front axle appears considerable. The
effects of this weight are exponential. In retrospect, I should have opted
for a lighter custom alum rad instead of an extremely heavy 4-row
replacement core.
On 75's, alum heads, steel tubular headers, alum intake, and removal of all
emissions stuff (which of course is not feasible) will all reduce weight
significantly. Smaller gains can be had with replacing stock fan and clutch
with alum fan and spacer, alum pulleys, yada, yada.
Sway bar. I think some folk came up with a swaybar that sorta fit, but I
can't remember which one. I would certainly be interested in knowing.
Shocks: I've gone thru many of them and by far, Koni's are supreme for real
world use and they actually have the B in their books.
