Hi Joe,
The cars do vary -- later cars are more refined.  For instance, the first 
few hundred cars did not have decent sound insulation and that was added.  
All of them suffer from poor engineering.  Lots of issues with leaking, body 
panel fitment, body panel cracking (acrylic over fiberglass and different 
expansion and retraction coefficients) and on and on.  For me the overall 
enjoyment is owning an oddball car that gets attention and is fairly cheap 
and reliable. I use mine daily except in the rain. Kim
