i'm bob and have #319. i looked at my a/c setup and there is an upper
bracket bolted to the top of the compressor that supports the idler
pully and it is painted black. there is a cast aluminum plate bolted to
the front of the head that the compressor actually sits on and that is
unpainted. i'm a newer owner and this car is under restoration so i
cannot vouch for the way it came from the factory. hope this helps.
