I called Terry Tanner for his advice on wheels. He does not recommend repairing
the original wheels. He has tried this on several and they have seldom come
back close enough to round to satisfy him. He also said there are risks of
cracking and other problems that make the Bricklin wheels dangerous. He
recommends packing them away for shows and putting on new wheels.
The specs for a replacement wheel are 15"x7" with standard offset and Ford lug
spacing. He said this is slightly wider than orginal, but works better. He said
to stick with P235 tires. The wheels will support wider tires, but they are
likely to rub.
He said to avoid cast wheels and to look for light weight materials like
aluminum rather than steel.
There isn't any particular brand or style he recommends.
