The Lincoln Versailles rear end will fit with SOME fabrication. It has disk
brakes but the repair parts ie calipers and rotors are very expensive, count
on spending around $300 for a complete redo of the (rear) brakes. It may be
more cost effective to get the gear changed in your rear at a reputable
trans shop. Be forewarned, a 2.70 rear end will be great on the high way but
will turn your car into a complete dog in the city and it will be unable to
get out of it's own way. An overdrive trans is probably the right way to
solve the problem, either an AOD or a 5 speed, that way you gain some top
end without sacrificing driveability.
