I guess it comes down to a matter of opinion.
My vote is 2897 is the real deal.

I understand the following. There were 17 1976 cars built in Canada, at the
factory. The last number was 2897. 19 additional cars were built in the US
from extra parts. The problem is which was the last official car built.
Was
it the original factory car, 2897 or the one built by the bankruptcy people
out of parts 2918.
This is still the mystery that will never be resolved.
